The Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario has recently approved numerous projects in our riding under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program a cost-shared, application-based infrastructure funding opportunity.
Elgin-Middlesex received $1.9 million for 11 projects under the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to improve municipal infrastructure and respond to the impacts of COVID-19. The Government of Canada is investing over $1.5M toward these projects while the Government of Ontario is contributing more than $370,000. The City of London has received $4.4M from the Government of Canada also under the COVID-19 Resilience stream which will positivity impact all Londoners.
Our riding also received funding under the Community, Culture and Recreation Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program for 6 projects investing over $3.4M by the Government of Canada to create spaces for members of the community to gather support cultural and recreational projects.
