Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Celebration in Elgin-Middlesex-London
ST. THOMAS, ON- In celebration of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Karen Vecchio, Member of Parliament has awarded 70 deserving individuals in Elgin-Middlesex-London.
In 2022, Canada is celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, marking the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne, Canada’s Head of State. Her Majesty is Canada’s longest reigning Sovereign and the first to celebrate the platinum jubilee.
In recognition of the Platinum Jubilee, honourees selected are individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to our community, are an outstanding volunteer or have achieved an extraordinary accomplishment.
“Our riding is a much richer place with citizens like our recipients,” said Vecchio. “I am honoured to bring joy and recognition to 70 individuals who are unsung heroes in our community. As Member of Parliament, I am grateful to represent and collaborate with so many selfless and tireless advocates who make Elgin-Middlesex-London a better place for all of us to live and work,” added Vecchio.
Hundreds of nominations were submitted across the riding through the nomination process, creating a challenging task for the nomination committee. Selected recipients reside across the region in the County of Elgin, the City of St. Thomas, the Municipality of Thames Centre, and the City of London.
