MEDIA ADVISORY: Information Regarding Temporary Foreign Workers

ST.THOMAS, ON– Today, Karen Vecchio, MP for Elgin-Middlesex-London is highlighting important details on the temporary foreign workers and their exemption from the current travel restrictions. It is important to note that temporary foreign workers also include holders of a work permit or Letter of Introduction (also known as Port of Entry Letter) under International Experience Canada will be exempted from the current travel restrictions.

All temporary foreign workers must follow the below criteria:
- Confirm with their prearranged employment that the employer is still operating and will honour the employment offer
- Foreign nationals who are travelling by air will need to pass a health check conducted by airlines before being allow to board
- Any traveller who shows symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter Canada by air
- On arrival in Canada, a traveller’s health will be assessed before they are allowed to leave the port of entry
- Foreign nationals who are travelling by air will need to pass a health check conducted by airlines before being allow to board
- Must isolate for 14 days even if you have no symptoms, this is mandatory
