St. Thomas, ON- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and challenges presented to the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program the Office of Karen Vecchio will be assisting the program by providing screening sheets outside of the CASO Station and having drop off hours for completed screening sheets and support documentation.
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is available for modest income individuals who have a simple tax situation. (Example individuals who have an income of $35,000 or less annually or couples who have a combined income of $45,000 or less would be considered eligible.)
Constituents must complete the drop off form and bring all personal tax documentation including all T-Slips, rent receipts or property tax receipt and other expense they wish to file. Individuals are able to print and complete the drop off form beforehand from the website at www.cvitp.ca or pick up the tax program screening sheet/ checklist with all instructions on the boardwalk at the CASO Station; 750 Talbot St. St. Thomas, ON between 10:00am- 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
Constituents will be able to drop off their completed screening sheet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:00pm- 4:00pm (April 12/13 and April 19/20) on the boardwalk of the CASO Station, 750 Talbot St. St. Thomas, ON. All completed screening sheets will placed in a secure drop off box that will be monitored by staff. All public health guides must be followed including physical distancing and wearing of a face covering.
Individuals who have already filed their income tax with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program will have their personal documentation returned to them via mail at the address provided on their income tax return.
