Elgin-Middlesex-London Youth Council Fall Meeting

September 26, 2018

St. Thomas, ON – Karen Vecchio, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London will be hosting her second Youth Council Advisory Meeting this Fall on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:30pm at the CASO Station;750 Talbot Street St. Thomas, ON.

The fall Youth Council meeting will focus on the topic of Mental Health and will feature representatives from Wellkin ( and Canadian Mental Health Association Elgin Branch (CMHA; to participate and inform youth on the work of their organizations.

The meeting will also feature guest speaker the Hon. Jeff Yurek, Member of Provincial Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London and Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry. MPP Yurek will be discussing his new role in Cabinet as well answering any provincial questions youth may have.

“After reviewing information collected from the Youth Council’s inauguration meeting it was apparent that a variety of issues are a concern to our youth. Youth are worried about mental health, transportation, the environment, agriculture and many other social issues. We will be working to ensure that these key topics and concerns are addressed over the course of our meetings” stated Vecchio.
